Research clearly shows that an emotional connection to reading and writing in children between the critical ages of 6 - 11 will positively impact their learning, comprehension and communication skills for the rest of their lives. This is our resolve.
THE SPARK
It's an amazing thing to see the light go on in the eyes of a child. The thrill of adventure as the world opens up right in front of them forms waves, like a pebble dropped into still water, that will positively affect them for the rest of their life.
The mere notion that one could help 'flip the switch' is as exciting as it is sobering. The picture to your lower left shows the moment that this happens in the life of a child. It's the connection, the emotional connection to reading that can change everything.
But unless children are reading, they can't get there.
